Infection Prevention & Control of Covid-19
This Safe Work Procedure (SWP) will provide a systematic process to follow to ensure that all safety considerations and precautions are in place prior to starting a job. All company vehicles will be provided with the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Upon arriving at the jobsite, employees will utilize all appropriate PPE (Mask, disposable latex gloves, steel toe work boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety shield, and safety glasses) Once employee is outfitted in all appropriate PPE a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) is required so the employee(s) are able to review and familiarize themselves with the area where they will be completing the work.
If maintenance is necessary during the stores operational hours – Once the Job Hazard Analysis is completed and reviewed, (if possible) utilize pylons or caution tape to mark off your work area providing you with a sufficient amount of space between you and any human traffic (the World Health Organization recommends 6 ft). Speaking with the store manager prior to commencing any work should always be done, this way there is no surprises when it is necessary to impede traffic inside the store, also, the store manager may be able to provide you with more information or assist you in such ways as closing down a small area from customers.
Once your work area has been taped off, make a list of all tools and materials required for the tasks. Take all tools & material into the store and complete work while adhering to all current safe work policies and procedures. All tools and materials going back into the company vehicle must be disinfected prior to being put back into the company vehicle. Once all tools and materials have been disinfected, discard disposable masks and gloves into your red biohazard bag.
Below you will see this procedure in bullet form for utilization as a checklist.
