Carpenter

Position Summary:

Commercial construction

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Layout steel studding and drywall
  • Setting forms for concrete construction
  • Doing finishing work
  • Framing walls and partitions
  • Installing doors and windows
  • Blue Print reading

Skills:

  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Willing to work long hours
  • Knowledge of residential construction
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Qualifications:

  • Completion of carpentry blocks or equivalent years of experience
  • First Aid certificate is required
  • Valid drivers licence
  • Criminal record check will be mandatory
  • Any other safety training considered an asset

Estimator

Position Summary:

The Estimator will quantify the materials, labour, and equipment needed to complete a construction project.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Managing the bid process from start to finish
  • Preparing bid packages, quotations and proposals
  • Review project plans, specifications, and details
  • Prepare project take-off and estimates of materials and labour costs
  • Organize and review bid submissions
  • Send out RFQ’s
  • Prepare project documentation

Skills:

  • Knowledge of estimating and scheduling
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team or by yourself, in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of construction divisions and codes
  • Ability to read construction drawings and understand specifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years experience within the Commercial Construction Industry.
  • A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology would be an asset
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Criminal record check will be mandatory
  • Safety training considered an asset

General Labourer

Position Summary:

Traveling throughout the Maritimes to preform various general labour jobs.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • General labour tasks associated with construction and maintenance, including but not limited to replacing and repairing floor tiles, sealing gaps, installing racking and other various duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Completing work orders as requested
  • Work with hand and power tools as needed
  • Keep job site clean
  • General knowledge of hand and power tools

Skills:

  • Ability to work long hours, including some evenings and weekends
  • Strong attention to detail, and being able to follow instructions as directed
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as unsupervised
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a labourer on a construction worksite considered an asset
  • Must be willing to travel throughout the Maritimes
  • Valid drivers licence
  • Criminal record check will be mandatory
  • First Aid Certificate is required

Junior Estimator/Project Administrator

Qualifications:

Must have a 2 year diploma in Technology in the Mechanical or Civil discipline, Experience as an estimator. Must be willing to learn all aspects of the general contracting industry.

 

Job Description:

Will be responsible for pricing all jobs including public and private construction estimating. Networking with suppliers, engineers, and sub-contractors; negotiating prices and completing bids. The Estimator will report directly to the Owner and/or Senior Estimator/ Project Manager. Will be asked to work directly with the Project Manager performing tasks as required to meet our contract requirements.

Project Manager

Position Summary:
The project manager will maintain a high level of customer service throughout the project with the customer.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate construction activities and resources from start to finish of multiple projects, including cost estimate, gross profit, schedule, quality, safety, client satisfaction, and time collection of progress billings, final payment, and holdback.
  • Update all parties involved on work progress and any changes and modifications to the original work.
  • Manage sub trades for projects.
  • Manage P.O.’s, change orders and change backs, verify and approve sub trade invoices.
  • Inspect progress and work quality during and post repairs.
  • Creating and managing schedules.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of construction division and codes
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Familiar with estimating, scheduling, subcontract coordination, and material procurement
  • Experience planning and monitoring budgets
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Project
  • Ability to work well in a team and on your own

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience within the Commercial Construction Industry.

Superintendent

Position Summary:

Ensuring projects are completed to contract specs and drawings while maintaining project schedule and meeting deadlines.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all site workers and subtrades meet TNT policy and legislated requirements.
  • Ensure materials are on site at scheduled time.
  • Ensure subtrades following schedule as per contract by having site meetings.
  • Complete daily job site inspections.
  • Send updates to Project Manager daily.
  • Ensuring cleanliness of site
  • Reporting any deficiencies to management between contracts and site conditions.

  • Knowledge of construction divisions and codes
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to read construction drawings and understand specifications
